Don't Worry

Don’t Worry (Day 35)

Share your love

It is Day 35 of the 40 Days of return to the Lord.  Today’s return word from the Lord is to refuse to worry. Jesus tells us the kind of things that should dominate the thought realm. Worry is futuristic, it’s about tomorrow. Say no to worry every time it shows up. Have you caught yourself worrying in recent times? Yes, we human beings want things to happen as planned. The truth is you really don’t want to depend on anyone for stuff to happen for you, and when it is beyond your power you tend to give in to worry. You need to keep your body healthy to enjoy life and stay healthy to fulfill God’s purpose, so refuse to worry.

Identify the Things you are Worried about

What do I Worry About? Worry gives birth to fear. Fear is false evidence appearing real. It is the opposite of faith. Fear is one of the weapons of the enemy. His ventures thrive wherever he finds fear, it activates demonic operations. Guard your heart against worry. People are worried about their job, family, spouse, marriage, children, business, career, health, end-time events, money, food, shelter, death, sickness, clothing, bills, neighbors, grandchildren, grandparents, family curses/limitations, devil/demons and having the good things of life. The truth is people are worried about everything. Don’t worry about anything, yes! None of all these things is worth the value of your life. This present world is full of everyday worry but make a choice not to give in to it.

Pray about Everything

The way out of worry is prayer. Prayer is for all men and women in Christ. It is the antidote to worry. Launch yourself into a lifestyle of consistent prayer. It is how you see and call forth the things you want to see in your life, ministry, relationships, marriage, work, academics, and business. Turn all your worries into a prayer list with the word in scriptures that address it. Talk to God about everything that scares you. The truth is that the Father knows all your worries and fears in life, but He wants you to trust Him enough and willingly commit them to Him without looking back. Prayer is the way to grow intimate with the Father. The Father wants your permission to handle your situations, He won’t interfere with your issues without an invitation. Like Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative responsibility for everything he owned. With Joseph there, he didn’t worry about a thing—except what kind of food to eat! Give Jesus complete responsibility for your life and future, let God take care of all your fears. Tell God about everything, not some of it but all of it.

Tell God what you Need

Most times unmet needs often result in worry. Take your needs to God before it becomes a source of worry in your heart. Many folks pray without telling God what is really in their heart. Tell God everything you need, from the least to the biggest in your eye. Don’t let your need and wants to shield your view of the greatness of the LORD. Rather let the size of the King of kings consume your need and aspirations in life. Needs are real but God is greater than everything you want and so desire. He owns the cattle on a thousand hill, the gold is mine and the silver is mine says the LORD. God created the entire universe and everything in it, so He is more than able and willing to meet all your needs. Tell God and trust God with your needs, wants, and fears.

Thank God for all He has done

Thanksgiving shifts your attention from the object to the subject of the matter. A heart of gratitude leaves no space for worry to dominate. A worried fellow can not see anything good to be thankful for, his focus is on his fears. If you will thank God more for His works, you will surely see greater works. The things you don’t appreciate will soon vanish away from your eyes. Your thanks is the gateway to the miracle you need. Say thank you, Lord!  Remind yourself of the able power of God to do the impossible through thanks. Write out the things God has done in your life and begin to thank Him for each of them.

The Dangers of Worrying

  1. Worry leads to unrest in your heart.
  2. Could result in sleepless nights.
  3. It can be traced to the loss of appetite.
  4. Worry produces an ungrateful heart.
  5. It deprives you of enjoyment in life.
  6. It shortens your life span.
  7. Worry makes you faithless.
  8. Worry is a waste of time.
  9. Nothing changes.
  10. Many sicknesses and diseases are aided by worry.

Finally, scriptures say in Luke12:31 to seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and He will give you everything you need. The kingdom is first in the heart of the Father, it is what the Lord wants to give you which also includes all your needs. Remember God always in every situation. Let Him be your first responder. Encourage yourself in the Lord in difficult moments when it seems as if you are standing all by yourself. Flood your heart with the kingdom matter, spend quality time meditating on the word of God and let the word of God fill your heart and your mind. Become a doer of the word. Bring the word of God to reality in your everyday life. Start seeking ways to be of help to others, let giving occupy your heart so much that you forget your needs. And see God move on your behalf. Praise God!
