Renew Your Strength

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

God still gives strength to the weary

I have met many people who make promises but never keep them. If God makes a promise, He stands by it and watches over His word until it is fulfilled. The scriptures tell us that God is a giver, and among many other things that God gives is strength. Strength is the capacity God gives us to withstand the great force of the enemy and the pressure of life. But to whom does God give strength? He gives strength to those who are weary, those who are tired and giving up. So, friends, if you are truly tired of bearing life’s burdens all by yourself, you have met God’s condition for strength.

God increases the power of the weak

There is a lot of oppression, suppression, and subjugation going on in the world today. The powerful override the right of the weak and poor. But we have hope in God. His word says God will see to it that the power of the weak does not get trampled upon. What I hear God saying here is that He did not make any man or woman without power. Some higher powers might have made you feel powerless, robbing you of your voice and potential in life. Hear the voice of the Lord to you today, “I will increase your power”. Are you feeling powerless and weak, cheated and robbed? God is releasing power unto you at this moment. The scripture says, “He does not crush the weak, Or quench the smallest hope; He will end all conflict with his final victory” (Matthew 12:20, TLB). I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power in the inner man through His Spirit (Ephesians 3:16, HCSB).

Those who rely on themselves will fail

If there is a time to thrust ourselves upon God, it is now. Why should we rely on God more than ever before? Because the strengths of horses and of men will fail. The scriptures say, “Even youths will grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength”. The strength of the youth will fail them. Young men who are known to be strong and have clear vision will stumble off their feet like old men and fall like the blind. Is that not scary enough? But there is good news for you and me; if we put our hope and faith in the Lord, He will renew our strength.

Let God carry you on His Eagles Wings

God is doing something new; He is releasing new strengths to those who will wait on Him and put their absolute trust in Him. The scriptures say, “They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”. Do you want to soar with wings like eagles? Do you want to run and never get weary? Do you want to walk and never faint? The ball is in your court, exercise yourself in the Lord today, hope in him, put your faith in His word, and spend time meditating upon His Word, receiving daily strength from His Spirit. Pray in the Spirit, saturate yourself in His Love, and lay in surrender before His throne of Grace.
