It is the fourth day! Thank you for your dedication to the 40Days of Return. Our hope is that in this forty-day journey, you will be rejuvenated and reconnected back to the Living Waters that is in Christ Jesus. I understand that we are in a very difficult time and too many things are crowding us up and competing for our attention. We must make sure not to allow the cares of this time and world to take us away from the love of God.
God is the Constant Factor!
Let me assure you that God is the most important factor in our lives at this time, and if you stick with Him, you will never have any regrets. This trying moment will definitely come to an end, and that is the reason you must be careful what you allow in your life right now. Don’t let the devil leave any bitterness in your mouth or inject you with his poisonous sorrows. You must make up your mind to stay with God and hold on to the promises of God.
The Holy Scripture says in Hebrews 12:1-2: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
There is a Cloud of Witnesses
First, you must understand that you are not the first to go through life; many in the cloud of witnesses have gone through life like you, enduring to the end and securing the rewards of God for themselves. They went through very terrible experiences but held on to God till their salvation came. That must be your attitude at such a time as this. Let their lives be your encouragement and motivation to keep going!
You cannot Afford any Hindrances
Second, you need to throw off everything that might stand in your way or become a barrier or hindrance to your making it till the end. Hindrances are not what you can afford in your life right now, irrespective of the forms they take, get rid of them by the help of God.
It is your Race, Follow Through!
Three, be willing to run our race with perseverance. Don’t get distracted by what is happening in the lives of others, focus on the race God has marked out for you. Love your own race and follow through on it.
No Business Looking Elsewhere!
Four, fix your eyes and gaze on the Lord Jesus. Let nothing take your eyes off the Lord. He is the perfect example the Father has given us to follow and emulate. It takes great energy and intentionality to fix our eyes and you must be willing to exert that force and energy. Jesus is the author and perfecter of our Faith, and that is why we have no business looking elsewhere but to him.
The Lord made himself a good example for us. He first endured the Cross and look away from the shame that came with the cross, instead he focused on the joy that was ahead of him – the big rewards of knowing that you and I will be saved by his suffering. That is exactly what you must do right now – focus on the promises of God, the end goal, the joy that is ahead of you, and pay the price now.
There is a reward waiting for you beloved – for Jesus, it was sitting down at the right hand of the throne of God. For you, it is definitely nothing less, you are going to enjoy rest and glory on all sides. That is what Jesus has promised you. He’s got so much in stock for you and you can count on His words and promises!
Let us Pray:
- Dear Lord, I thank you for yet another day in this 40-Day Journey with You.
- I worship and honor your Name for being so good to me.
- Thank you for counting me worthy to be your very own possession.
- Thank you for being a great example for me in all things.
- I give you praise for all the wondrous truth you are unfolding to me these 40 Days.
- Father, help me to focus on you as the only constant and most important factor in my life.
- Father, help me to hold on to you every day of my life, irrespective of what is happening around me and in the world.
- Help me dear Lord to remain strong in you at such a trying and difficult time.
- I receive strength to keep going by the testimonies of the Cloud of witnesses.
- I receive Grace to finish well like the Cloud of Witnesses have also done.
- Help me to equip myself with the same attitude of Christ that was found in the Cloud of Witnesses.
- I remove from my life and way every hindrance in the Name of Jesus.
- I receive Grace to stand against distractions and overcome every satanic barrier in Jesus Name.
- I receive divine Grace to focus on the race God has marked out for you.
- Father, I choose today to love the Race you have set before me and to follow through on it in Jesus Name.
- Father, I confess today that I have no business looking elsewhere but to you alone.
- I receive divine energy to fix my eyes and gaze on you, dear Lord Jesus.
- I receive Grace to focus on the promises of God, the end goal, and the joy that is ahead of you in the Name of Jesus Christ.
- By the Grace of God, I will not lose any of the Blessings and rewards that the Father has got in stock for me in Jesus Name.
- Thank you Father because your Promises are Yes and Amen in Jesus Name. Amen. Halleluyah!
