It is Day 7 of the 40Days of Return. I want you to know God today for who is He is; The Bible says God is Love. It is alright to know everything else that God is or what He does, but if you are yet to know God as Love, your faith is missing a major foundation stone.
If there is anything that will keep you strong and unshakable in your faith walk, it is knowing God as Love; coming to the understanding of the dimensions of the Love of God for you.
God Loves You Just Like Jesus
First let me mention and remind you that the Bible says God loves you the same way He loves His son, Jesus Christ. John 17:23 says: You live fully in me and now I live fully in them so that they will experience perfect unity, and the world will be convinced that you have sent me, for they will see that you love each one of them with the same passionate love that you have for me (The Passion Translation).
The Voice Translation says I in them and You in Me, that they may be refined so that all will know that You sent Me, and You love them in the same way You love Me. Think about that reality for a moment. Do you believe that God loves you the same way He loves His son, Jesus Christ? Do you believe that God loves you with the same passionate love that He has for His son, Jesus? You have to let that reality become tangible to you, letting it become so real to you, sinking so deep within your entire being. That is a core foundation stone that must not be missing in your faith walk with God. That will help you settle a lot of concerns that Satan and life might throw at you.
Get Overwhelmed by God’s Love
Two, commit to growing and deepening your roots in the Love of God. The scriptures say in Ephesians 3:16-18: I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.
Ephesians 3:18-19 (TPT) says: Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!
Make God’s Love Your Dwelling Place
Three, Keep yourself in God’s Love. The scriptures say in Jude 20-21: But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. That is the safest place to be in your faith walk. In fact, faith works by love.
