The Origin of Sickness and Diseases
Sicknesses and diseases are works of the devil that Jesus came to destroy. Demons work hand in hand to put sickness, pains, and diseases on a man’s life. To rob him of a beautiful life, shorten the lifespan and ultimately hinder him from fulfilling the purpose in his life. Healing is one of the benefits of the ministry of Jesus Christ to humanity. God wants you strong in spirit, soul, body. He wants you to live your best life every day.
When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her. Then she got up and prepared a meal for him. That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick. This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases”, Matthew 8:14-17 (NLT).
The Ministry of Jesus Today
Jesus came to the world to seek and save sinners. He is still doing that today, and He desires to save you if you will open up your heart to let Him in. Jesus came teaching in the synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people (Matt. 4:23). This is an ongoing mission of Christ through His body, those who have Him living in their hearts.
Is There Healing For Me?
Thank God for medical doctors and personnel as well as scientifically proven prescriptions for various illnesses, good but not the ultimate solution for our dying world. There is healing in the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is sufficient for all cases, He answers those who call on Him in truth. The name of Jesus is as powerful in your mouth as if He is present physically. His name delivers effectively and efficiently to those who are living life in line with God’s word.
How Do I Get My Healing?
You can receive healing by laying on of hands by a believer or through the anointing. Partaking in the holy communion is another way to receive your healing. The best way to receive is by believing the name of Jesus and this is how you keep your healing. Believing that Jesus is your healer, provider, intercessor, mediator, shepherd, Saviour. It is that simple. You may not feel healed immediately. Believing in the name of Jesus is not based on feelings or doctor’s reports at all. Reading out loud the truth of God’s word on your spirit, soul, and body, aloud to yourself until it overwhelms you so much that it becomes your meditation and confession. Act based on your faith in the finished work of Christ.
Who Can Be Healed?
Anyone who lets Jesus into his house can be healed. Like Peter did in Matthew 8:14-15 and his mother-in-law was healed. Sickness and disease can not withstand the name of Jesus. That house is your heart, where Jesus is constantly knocking, seeking, and waiting for you to let Him in for a sweet fellowship with you. If you believe in the finished work of Christ, and give your heart to Him then, you can be healed and made whole. Hallelujah!!!
What is the role of Good Works in Healing?
We were saved to do good works as Jesus did by the power of the Holy Spirit, who went everywhere doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil. Good works can bring you to remembrance before God. Good works in itself can not bring healing to your body. Healing comes through faith in the finished work of Jesus on the cross under the new covenant. Jesus bore our infirmity and took our sicknesses, the word of God did not say good works bore our infirmity or took our sicknesses. It is clear, Jesus bore your infirmity and took your sicknesses. That settles it.
Why Are Many Sick?
Matt. 13:15 (MSG); Your ears are open but you don’t hear a thing. Your eyes are awake but you don’t see a thing. The people are blockheads! They stick their fingers in their ears so they won’t have to listen; They screw their eyes shut so they won’t have to look, so they won’t have to deal with me face-to-face and let me heal them.
What do you feed your ears? Many are sick because they feed their ears with words that aren’t faith-based. These words become the substance of the heart. Influencing your lifestyle. Sometimes symptoms, pain, and how you feel beguile you from the real thing Jesus has for you. Lack of commitment to the word of God robs you of the inheritance you’ve got in Christ. Which healing is one? Only the word of faith is able to bring you face to face with the healer. I encourage you to keep your focus on Jesus. Give Him your attention and receive your healing.
Confession: Prayer For Healing
- Father God, I thank you for providing healing for me through Your only begotten son Jesus Christ. You forgave all my iniquities; You healed all my diseases; I thank you that healing is for me today.
- Dear Jesus, I thank you that You bore my infirmities and You took my sicknesses. Therefore, I can not bear them anymore because You did that on my behalf.
- Devil take your dirty hands off my health in Jesus’ name. I lay hold on my healing and health in Christ Jesus.
- Your word says that you wish me above all things that all will be well with me and that I will live in health in my body as well as in spirit and soul.
- Lord, I thank You that You are for me and not against me. I understand that you want me healed and strong in my body to house the Holy Spirit in me.
- My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, therefore, I can not manifest anything that represents oppression, darkness, or the devil.
- Father God, help me to stay committed Your truth that I have received. To store up Your commands in my heart daily. So that I may live many years in satisfaction in the land of the living.
- I declare that I have healing for my body and strength for my bones in the name of Jesus.
- Father God anoint me with the Holy Ghost and with power to heal the sick and to deliver all that are oppressed of the devil in the name of Jesus. So that handkerchiefs and clothing materials from my body will heal the sick and diseases will depart from many, and the evil spirits will go out of them in Jesus’ name (Acts 10:38).
- It is written, “..I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee”. The devil cannot put cancer, diabetes, heart disease, chronic lung disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s, kidney disease, COVID 19, sickle cell disease, pain of any kind on me (Exodus 15:26).
- Thank you, Father, for it is written, “ ..the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee (Deut 7:15). Hallelujah!!!
- Thank you LORD for your blessing is upon me and my household, I shall serve the Lord my God, and He will bless my bread, and my water; and You will take sickness away from the midst of us. I receive wisdom to live daily, to make the right choices of food and drinks.
- Dear Holy Spirit, remind me to practice activities that promote healthy living. Thank you, LORD.
