Those who work in the bank, get trained on the original currency day after day by touching, squeezing, studying, and doing all sorts of experiments on it for days. Then, comes the test to identify the original among counterfeits. The test will be a work over for the one who has mastered the original. It is awkward to learn the original by knowing the counterfeit. So it is with recognizing the voice of the Lord God. Freedom from fear, worry, anxiety, depression is in listening and following after the voice of the Good Shepherd. Knowing the voice of the Shepherd is so key to your victory in life and destiny. You can be free from fear today if you will commit to learning the art of listening to the voice of the Shepherd.
The One who Always Listens
The knowledge of the voice of the Lord comes through life’s experiences. Desiring to hear God’s stand for you every step of the way is how to start to hear Him. Waiting patiently to receive a word from the Lord is so crucial in every decision. Making a habit of it leads the way to becoming acquainted with the voice of the Lord. This is how you learn the specifics of how God relates to you. Folks, we are encouraged according to scriptures to talk less and do more listening even in our human relationship. Listening shows that you honor the other person and prefer them above yourself. God wants to talk to you more than you are willing to listen. You are so in a hurry! James 1:19 says, My dearest brothers and sisters, take this to heart: Be quick to listen, but slow to speak. And be slow to become angry.
A Heavenly Peace
As you know the world is seeking peace, but there is no peace in this world. The only place where peace can be found is in Jesus. The world’s method of generating peace have failed. Peace is godly. In Jesus, you find peace and rest for your soul, the inward person desires peace. I pray for peace over you, your marriage, family, children, mind, finances in Jesus’ name. Even in our changing world of social distancing, unstable governance, and economic instability, you can have peace always by listening to the voice of the Lord. God wants to speak with you as a friend in a personal way that is unique. Your peace is in listening and obeying the voice of the Lord, give it a try. When you disobey authorities, you lost your peace and it is the same way when you disobey God. Disobedience robs you of peace. The more you listen and obey the greater the measure of the heavenly peace you experience.
Free from Fear, Confident and Courageous
Psalms 23 vs 4 says, even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Your confidence is in the presence of God with you regardless of your situation. I like to say that the most important treasure to guard is the presence of God. In His presence is His voice. Talking with you and guiding you to make the right choices is what He wants to do. Freedom, confidence, hope, and courage are borne from knowing that God is with you. Pause now and make the fourth verse of Psalms twenty-three personal. Let your focus be on the greatness of God and your confidence level will keep rising.
Sheltered from the Storms of Life
The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt, but do as I tell you. By divine instruction, Isaac was guided about his location in the time of famine. Isaac could have changed his address as many people did at that time but the voice of God shielded him from going down to Egypt. In the midst of famine, he prospered and became great by listening to the voice of the Lord. It is sure that there will be storms, are you prepared? You don’t prepare for the storm during the storm. The time to prepare is now by learning to hear the voice of God for your life. It will be obvious when the storms come by the result you bear.
Master Listening to God
But the one who always listens to me will live undisturbed in a heavenly peace. Free from fear, confident and courageous, you will rest unafraid and sheltered from the storms of life Proverbs 1:33. Intimacy with the voice of the shepherd is built over time as you examine issues and breakthroughs in your life to see how they came about. The voice you heard, how you knew what to do, when you decided, how you went about your plans, and so on. Many times I have heard believers say words like, my heart kept burning, I just had joy unexplainable, I had unrest, I just knew something was wrong about the whole idea, the word of scripture that stood out to me. All these are ways you identify how God spoke to you in time past. Take note of the trend.
Your own ears will hear God. Right behind you, a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left in the name of Jesus. No longer will you be confused in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
